The appointment of a highly experienced Transport Manager at our National Distribution Centre in Portbury, Bristol is key to supporting our ambitious business growth plans. As a senior member of the NDC Management Team, the successful candidate will report to the NDC Distribution Operations Manager. With responsibility for a team of over 50 people, this is a management & leadership role requiring an individual with the gravitas, energy and demonstrable track record to deliver a first class service to our customers. The business has achieved significant growth over the past 10 years and now has a very extensive product range with over 1,000 SKU’s that are delivered to over 1400 customers accross the UK. This is achieved in-house via our own picking systems and using our own fleet of vehicles.

Reporting to The Distribution Operations Manager, the Transport Planning and Projects Manager is responsible for the transport planning team who create the national distribution plan balancing customer requirments with transport resources.
You will manage the transport planners to deliver efficient and effective route planning across the UK for over 350 customers a day, up to 300 routes a week.
You will be ionvolved in transport projects such as scenario modelling and influencing the future of the apetito delivery network.
Compliance monitoring is also an important part of this role, to ensure apetito adheres to operator licencing undertakings.

The Role and Team

The Role
The E-commerce Functional Analyst is critical to the team who develop and maintain our multi-million pound Wiltshire Farm Foods web site. We have over 50,000 users a month, last year over 500,000 orders were placed online and we are aiming to grow this significantly in the next year.
As E-Commerce Functional Analyst, you’ll need a mix of analytical, technical and commercial skills to bring this role to life.
You will use your analytical skills to ensure we are commercially astute and to maximise opportunities for sales & profit.
Technical skills will be key to bringing both planned and reactive decisions and promotions to life on our web site.
Building partnerships across the business will be a big part of this role, both delivering on mutual projects and lending your expertise on best practice and innovative ways to utilise the web platform and our product mix. You’ll need to be able to communicate with people who have different technical skills and empathise with our customer base to ensure the web site is inclusive and accessible.

The Role and Team
This position is working 16 hours per week, any 2 in 6 days including bank holidays.
Our drivers are the face of our business and their interaction with our customers is crucial to our success.
In this role you will be delivering frozen Wiltshire Farm Foods meals and bringing sunshine to our customers doors (no matter what the weather is doing). As such, you will enjoy meeting people and always be willing to go above and beyond what is expected.
Along with this, you will be working within our coldstore that runs at a chilly -20ºc. Protective clothing designed to deal with this temperature will be provided along with breaks to warm up and have a hot drink when necessary.
You will need to work as part of the wider team always looking to help out the office team. We encourage movement between teams to provide flexibility, job satisfaction, personal development and knowledge of the whole business.

The department and team
This role is 40 hours per week
apetito is the UK’s leading supplier of food and catering solutions to care homes, local authorities & hospitals and the transport and distribution area of the business is a critically important part of our supply chain. Our drivers are the key link between our business and the customers we work with; ensuring our work is delivered professionally, efficiently and on time.
As a professional driver, this role represents a chance to join a growing and forward thinking business as an ambassador for apetito delivering our finished frozen food product to Care Homes, Local Authorities, Hospitals and our Wiltshire Farm Foods franchisees. In this critical role you must be prepared to drive to different geographical locations and manage a demanding delivery schedule – our customers depend on our food and we depend on you. Additionally, you will need to ensure that you provide fantastic customer service as the face of apetito. Start times vary between 04.00am – 08.00am and are based on an initial 40 hour week.
Our main base is Portbury near Bristol but we also have staff at our out base depots in the following locations; Stanmore, Gillingham, South Kirkby, St Helens and Motherwell in Scotland.

The Senior Customer Service Advisor (SCSA) will be responsible for their own group of customers ensuring that world class customer service is provided at all times. The SCSA will be responsible for order processing, the management and set up of their own accounts, dealing with inbound and outbound calls, complaint handling and deputising for the Customer Service Manager as and when required.
You will ensure all queries are dealt with in a professional and timely fashion, acting as a role model for your colleagues, who is effective in identifying and resolving/escalating customer issues. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator with a passion for delivering a first-class service. You will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train team members through coaching and development and will support the Customer Service Manager improving the customer journey with good systems knowledge and an expert level in excel is a must.
