Overview

This exciting role offers a great opportunity for a creative and talented dotnet backend developer who is looking to join a small, focused, passionate, and supportive team to help contribute to the evolution of our core B2B ordering platform and play a key role in the transition to a next-generation digital ordering experience. Reporting to the Software Development Manager you will help us improve our back-end applications to help drive productivity and efficiency within our business, and most importantly delight our customers.

 

As an experienced dotnet developer, you will work as part of a focussed product team developing our core B2B ordering platform, and will be responsible for contributing to sprint velocity, stand up, estimations, and retrospectives. You will have strong back-end development skills with a clear understanding of modern dotnet, C# and Entity Framework. Experience with using OAuth2.0 would be welcomed.

 

You will be involved in all stages of software development, from architecture design, through deployment to performance evaluation in production.

You should be self-motivated and capable of delivering timely, quality work against deadlines with little supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using Github / Azure DevOps for continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Close collaboration with other team members.
  • Performing code reviews of other team members code to learn and ensure standards and adhered to.
  • Troubleshooting errors in development and production applications.
  • Spend time with customers/users of our systems to best understand the challenges they face that we can solve.
  • Being proactive in your development and the development of other engineers. Seeking out conferences, suggesting videos, always looking to develop skills and experience, where necessary.
  • Actively seek opportunities to get involved in teams outside of IT to improve your understanding of business & customer challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and development practices related to dotnet and API development.

About you

Essential:

  • Proven experience in C# programming language and .NET framework
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles
  • Experience with Entity Framework for data access and object-relational mapping (ORM)
  • Commercial track record of ASP.NET Web API for building APIs
  • Experience in a workplace setting with Azure services such as Application Insights, Azure Web Apps, and Azure SQL Database
  • Familiarity creating and managing CI/CD pipelines and source control management using either Azure Devops or GitHub.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of feature flagging tooling like LaunchDarkly
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product delivery frameworks.
  • Exposure to testing frameworks like xUnit for unit testing
  • Comfortable with developing in Angular or similar Javascript frameworks.
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation and testing
  • Familiarity with OWASP top 10 and security web applications.
