Overview

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for managing stock with a value of Circa £6m in our warehouse, which operates at -24 degrees. You’ll directly manage a team of Stock Control Administrators and Warehouse Operatives. You’ll need to have operational oversight as well as planning for future seasons and projected growth of product lines and customer volumes.

 

Analytical, organisational and collaborative skills are key for your success in this role as you navigate the challenges of managing goods into, through, and out of the warehouse space to meet strict deadlines.

 

Working with colleagues in purchasing, goods in and dispatch will be key so effective communication and team working are also really important.

 

Core Hours 08.30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday, however, some flexibility may be required to ensure operational success.

Responsibilities

Stock Integrity

  • Track and monitor stock write-ons and write-offs.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, shortages, and other key metrics.
  • Drive stock accuracy in the site within your team and by collaborating with the operational team
  • Manage and reconcile stock in the external storage locations stock is kept.
  • Stock Routines : Manage mixed and variety pallets, control damages and returns.
  • Ensure timely return of samples to Trowbridge.

Process Integrity

  • Oversee inbound activity across our external storage locations
  • Plan and drive correct product placement through inbound planning to ensure adequate coverage in the picking chamber.
  • Assist in warehouse layout optimization, improved utilization, and stock movement.
  • Manage, plan and execute in a timely and efficient manner all changes to the product range (incoming and delists) the impact this has on the storage, picking and replenishment operation. Work with the business Range Managers to achieve this.
  • Drive our picking quality control, working closely with operations and customer services to improve our accuracy to customers.

People Management

 

  • A proficient people manager - Lead and manage the stock team to support operations, and customer service effectively.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Promote a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Provide support for HR cases on-site as necessary.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure adherence to safe practices in the warehouse.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols within the team.

About you

Essential:

  • Qualified to degree level qualification or with equivalent experience
  • Possess excellent IT skills - Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc
  • Excellent understanding of stock control principles and warehouse operations (replenishment and order picking)
  • Possess excellent analytical skills
  • Previous experience working with SAP WM or other similar WMS
  • Previous experience of managing people
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good people and communication skills
