Overview

This role sits within our Product Development Team and reports directly to the Ingredients Manager.

 

This is a pivotal role in supporting and ensuring the delivery of safe, quality foods across numerous  business sectors, that meet all legislative requirements and apetito policies.  
 
Engagement with our suppliers, as well as other apetito teams, to collate and share information on our raw materials and finished product specifications will be a key aspect of this role.
You will actively support  the development team with new concept development in areas such as ingredient functionality and legislative requirements.

You will be a “go-to” source of information for our meals supporting your colleagues in areas such as dietetics, marketing and sales.
 
As a Food Technologist you will be supported to stay up to date with Food legislation, as you will play a key role in the implementation of any changes.

 

This role is based at our Trowbridge headquarters on a six-month fixed term contract. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either a full time or part time position.

Wiltshire Farm Foods, our sister company, is the UK’s largest ready meal supplier cooking and delivering over 330 different delicious frozen ready meals across the UK.

Responsibilities

- Work with suppliers to prepare, and keep updated, specifications for raw materials used on site
- Prepare apetito product specifications 
- Answer product and material queries from internal stakeholders and customers
- Check artwork for accuracy and compliance
- Keep internal systems for products and recipes up to date
- Support development colleagues in the setup of new and improved products

- Drive continuous improvement 

About you

Essential

  • You will have a degree in Food Science or related discipline or proven previous experience in a similar role
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
  • Comfortable  and capable of working on multiple projects at one time

Desirable

  • Previous experience preparing Food Specifications & labels
  • Previous experience in Food Manufacturing

  • Self-motivated and able to own and manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Able to work within a team and communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a professional manner, using both oral and written forms of communication
  • Analytical thinker with ability to translate facts into usable information to support a position on a task in the workplace
